This lovely cottage has a style all its own, a combination of tropical colors and a crisp, modern industrial look with a steel beamed ceiling softened by the beautiful solid wood cabinets. It's built with cement blocks with reinforcing bars and poured concrete in every cell, adhering to the strict Costa Rica seismic building code. It has underground electric from the meter to the house, and all outlets are grounded. It is prewired for cable or Sat TV.

The under counter kitchen cabinets have each one drawer and 2 open shelves, and are on lockable rollers, to allow them to be pulled out and cleaned behind, and also used as a rolling bar or serving unit when needed. The laundry room has a line for propane gas and is also wired for 110/220 for your choice of energy for the water heater and the clothes drier.
The two embedded burner units, at either side of the 2 well stainless steel sink, are propane gas, but there is also an electric outlet for lighting the burners. The kitchen cabinets and the bed and night tables are all solid wood, Cenizaro is the name. The bed also has 2 drawers on both sides for storage. All the windows and doors are first grade brushed bronzed aluminum with lockable sliders and removable bug screens. The kitchen counters, sofa, bar, dining table, and the sink and cabinet in the bathroom are cast concrete with a lovely acid stain finish, with 2 coats of sealer. The floor tiles are rustic style, easily cared for with broom and mop. The sidewalk around the house and overhang porch are painted with sport-court-quality paint.
The paint inside and outside is Aqualock by Protecto, which allows the house to be totally protected from humidity. The floor was laid on black isolating plastic sheeting for the same reason.

This was conceived as a cottage that someone, single or couple, could have as a getaway place. It measures +/- 800 square feet under roof, with a large bedroom, a bathroom with combination laundry room, set up for washer and dryer. The kitchen is open to the living area, with a breakfast counter, lots of windows, sitting porch off both the living area and the bedroom.

It is designed as a comfortable place for a single person or couple to live full time or for vacation, or while a larger home is built next to it on the additional building site already carved out. Later, it could become a guest house, studio, rental, etc.

The land is 1.75 acres or 7,000 meters, lots of usable land now covered in secondary growth with lots of trees and wild life. It is located within the Rancho Lobo community (see www.rancholobohomes.com), in Los Angeles Sur, 10 minutes from San Ramon, at 3,000 feet elevation, with t-shirt days and comforter nights, very peaceful and secure. The community shares a 1.5 kilometer walking trail through 30 acres of our private Cloud Forest reserve, with a 30 foot waterfall. There is a great caretaker, Chico, available for groundkeeping shores and all kinds of other things when needed, and Danilo is our nighttime caretaker and gatekeeper. There are monthly dues for Danilo's salary and road maintenance of $45.00 total.
The price is $85,000 firm, and includes the Costa Rican corporation which owns the property if you want it, or the land can be deeded to your name or another Corporation.
